PROJECT OVERVIEW
Cunningham's Gap is a pass over the Great Dividing Range between the Darling Downs and the Fassifern Valley in Queensland and is the major route over the Main Range between Warwick and Brisbane. The Rock Fall Protection project was federally funded and managed by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads following ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie which passed through the region in March 2017, producing an intense rainfall that caused substantial damage and subsequent rock fall hazards along the Cunningham's Highway. Due to the substantial damage caused by the cyclone a significant Rock Fall Hazard required a Rock Fall Protection Solution to make the road safe.
