DTMR (South Coast Region) awarded RAM the Rock Scaling / Working at Height contract in June 2023. Numerous packages of work were included with RAM's skilled rope access technicians tasked with solving a variety of geotechnical problems in the region. Work is ongoing.

Rix Asset Maintenance (RAM) were awarded the Rock Scaling / Working at Height contract to Department of Transport and Main Roads South Coast Region in June 2023. This contract involves numerous varying packages of work across South East Queensland which RAM provide skilled rope access technicians to solve geotechnical problems in the region. RAM has the proven ability to supply rope access crews for emergency works such as graffiti removal, rock scaling and road clean up works. Over the duration of the contract RAM has worked on 18 projects with a total of 6190 labour hours across the projects.
On arguably the biggest Rope Access Geotechnical Project in Australia during 2020, RAM provided circa 50 multi-skilled Rope Access Technicians, working around the clock to make safe the slopes ravaged by fire. This was achieved by initially completing Rock Scaling and Tree Removal before stabilising the slopes by installing over 1300 Soil Nails and Micropiles.
500m3 of reinforced shotcrete prior to the installation of Gabion Walls whilst on the upslopes Installed Rock Fall Protection Drape Mesh Systems & Rock Fall Barriers, which allowed traffic and other contractors safe access to Binna Burra Lodge, which was devastated by fire and was to be re-built from the ashes.
With more than 25 separate sites/slopes spread along Binna Burra Rd, and the extremely difficult access conditions, RAM utilised a variety of drilling techniques including High Reach production drilling units, cliff face wagon drills, hand drills and crawler rigs.
