Following extreme weather (DRFA Event 22F) , multiple slopes in the Gold Coast Hinterland required Emergency Stabilisation works on both the downslope and upslope

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Following the Southern Queensland extreme weather rain event 22F in 2022, multiple slopes in the Gold Coast Hinterland at Beechmont Rd, Springbrook Rd and Lamington National Park were affected. Emergency Stabilisation works were required on both the downslope and upslope.

SOLUTION

RIX Asset Maintenance (RAM), who specialise in completing these types of difficult access works, with their experienced workforce and specialist plant, had been contracted to undertake the installation of soil nails, rock bolts, drainage holes, shotcrete, and rock fall mesh. RAM have been able to mobilise in excess of 40 personnel within 1 weeks’ notice.
