The 2022 La Nina flooding events in QLD created rockfall and geotechnical hazards which impacted hundreds of sites on Queensland roads. The majority of these works are being undertaken on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) as part of the Natural Disaster Program repair works, a result of major landslips that occurred through March 2022, which closed roads and caused unprecedented damage to infrastructure.

SOLUTION

RIX Asset Maintenance (RAM), which specialise in completing these types of Geotechnical difficult access works, with their experienced Geotechnical Rope Access workforce and specialist plant, were contracted on behalf of TMR to undertake the installation of Anchoring and Rockfall Protection Systems over numerous sites.

RAM completed the following:

•        Rope Access Scaling

•        High Reach Drilling

•        Down Slope Drilling

•        Rockfall Mesh Drape

•        Shotcrete

•        Rock Bolts

•        Self Drilling Anchors
