PROJECT OVERVIEW

As part of the DRFA Event 22AF Reconstruction works, RAM was awarded the subcontract to complete slope remediation works at 6 sites between Tomewin Mountain and Mount Tamborine, QLD, Australia.

SOLUTION

  • Implementation and maintenance of a project management plan incorporating a Quality System, an Environmental Management Plan, Health & Safety Coordination Plan, and IRATA compliant Rope Access techniques.
  • vegetation and loose debris to construction levels, and lawful disposal of material off-site.
  • Supply and installation of soil nails treatment (Ischebeck Titan Duplex 40/20, 115mm Button Bit).
  • Button Bit).
  • Supply and installation of structural reinforcement - steel mesh, spider bars, strip drains, expansion joints, and coir matting.
  • Shotcrete spraying to project specifications, ensuring expansion joints and control joints are installed as per design requirements.
  • The works were completed with no health and safety incidents, on schedule, and with minimal disruption to road users.

PLANT

  • GeoPRO  14T excavator + TEI Mast - Performed great, Mast was brand new, and Virgil was working onsite with the team, so he was adjusting and servicing the Mast as needed. Little slew movement on the 14T due to site inclination, controlled with hatched straps.
  • Optimal mobile set up was established to ensure most efficient way to mob and demob, lay down areas after grouting, handy to move materials around onsite. and easy to wash down and stay tidy. (Grout Truck and trailer set up and Ditman Grout Bowl on a trailer)
  • Both set ups performed really well on this job, and there were no issues with the drilling and grouting.

QUALITY

A rewarding relationship was fostered between RAM and SEE Civil and contributed to the success of the project. This has resulted in ongoing collaboration between the two companies.

This close relationship meant SEE Civil were able to confidently rely on RAM's SOPs.

TMR HSE representatives visited the site multiple times and were very satisfied with RAM's level of HSE procedures and controls.
Daily pre-starts and HSE meetings were completed and no incidents were reported during the project.
